Hi,
This is just an idea I had. Maybe there should be a way to search for people, or to sort the profile search, whether or not they have an Instant Messenger listed, or if they are in a certain age range. Just a thought. More ways to sort might come in handy. Oh and another thing, is there a way for a person to see who has a Skype name listed without listing a Skype name in their profile? Because what if people want to see who all has Skype before they download the program and thus put their name in?

Hi Caitlen: It sounds like what you are asking for is more sorting options. Yes, this is a good idea though, but I think this might require a lot of work. I mean, you could have options to sort by anything that is in the profile. It could be done though, I do believe. John
OH well if it would be a lot of work that's bad, but I just thought it would be a very useful thing to have. It's something I'd like to see but like I say, if it's a lot of work that's just too bad for me lol haha.

Ya, redoing the profile browser is pretty high on the wishlist right now. It actually wouldn't be a lot of work, but I want to do a complete overhaul to the viewer with search, more sorting, etc.
As for Skype... Chris designed this, but I would think the thought is that you have to give to get. Then again, you can already see other's Skype names in profiles, so maybe having the list available to everyone would be OK. Is anyone against this?

I have no problems with things like search bye who has skype msn adn such after all if people didn't want to be contacted why would they put such info in their profile so go for redesigning the profile view I reckon.

This is just something that I'd really really enjoy having. It would make finding contacts to chat with a lot easier. Especially if it's not that difficult, I'd be very happy to see this done. Thanks so much for the thoughts! Hope it works out!

I don't know if this would be to hard to do, but what about searcing profiles for similar interests, like they do on Live Journal and similar sites? That might be a good way for people who like the same things to meet.
These are all great suggestions, and I'd love that idea of including different messenger addresses for people on here be it aim or what ever, and skype? hell yeah! I'm always looking for different contacts there as well, even though I have a slower connection, it's still doable! so go for it!
I've seen some great ideas here. These are all things I'd like to see out here, as well. It would also be cool, if you could search for a profile, by only using part of a user name. Let's say, you can't think of a person's full user name, but you remember part of it, if you could type in part of it, and get a list of users, I think that would be cool.

These are all great ideas, and I would absolutely love to see this done. Does anyone know if this may be done in the near future? Like, admins, do you guys know if this can be done at all? Just wondering. Seems a lot of users are excited by it. I sure am! But I understand there's a lot to be done, and I will contain my excitement lol.
So anytime, whenever and ifever this can be done, it would rock.

Yes, it can be done. Unfortunately with a small, well mostly me and Chris, programming team who has 50 other things going on, everything around here takes time. I wish we had more help, etc. but with keeping the site basically free, time is limited. But a profile search is definitely something taht's been needed for a long time now.
I think all the ideas are good. Being able to find people by age would really be a good thing for me. And searching for people by interests is also a good idea.

hmm, I have been thinking. well sometimes I remember user5s full names, but I end up misspelling them. So, hmm, maybe a suggestion provider in the search option is not as bad, and if I didn't know there was already one, just repply to this message. Thanks
